Thanks to its varied landscapes, Mallorca offers stunning views with cliffs, mountains, and rock formations.
In the article below, I have gathered 21 of best viewpoints in Mallorca (known as Miradores), that are easy to access with a car.
Those are some of the most beautiful Mallorca views!
Before my tips + photos, here are my favorites for Mallorca:
My favorite platform to rent a car in Mallorca: DiscoverCars
The unmissable boat tour: dolphin watching from Alcudia
My favorite excursion from Palma: Port de Soller and Valldemossa
My favorite places to stay:
- Palma de Mallorca: see best rated hotels – e.g. Hotel Posada Terra Santa
- Port d’Alcudia: see best rated hotels – e.g. Bonavida apartments
- Cala d’or: see best rated hotels – e.g. Casa Ceiba Maria
- In a Finca in the heart of the island – I suggest Finca Cas Sant
#1 – Mirador Es Colomer – best views in Mallorca
The most famous viewpoint in Mallorca is clearly Mirador es Colomer.
It is a must stop on the way to Formentor beach or to the Formentor Lighthouse.
There is a small carpark along the road. Even if you can’t climb the stairs, there are already beautiful views from there.
But if you walk to the various lookouts, you can enjoy views of the cliffs in the different directions. It is quite an impressive area.
- Location – North-East coast, Formentor Cape Road
- Accessibility – Easy drive, view from carpark or better views after stairs – very popular
#2 – Far de Cap Gros – stunning Mallorca views
First, my picture does not do justice to the place.
It is a really phenomenal location near a lighthouse.
From there you can look back towards the natural harbor of Port de Soller with the cliffs on the side and the Tramuntana mountains in the background.
- Location – South of Port de Soller, West Coast
- Accessibility – 2km narrow drive to a small carpark (or walk the 2km from Port de Soller and park in Repic) – view directly from the road.
#3 – Albercutx Tower Road
As mentioned in #1, Es Colomer is the most famous viewpoint in Formentor.
However, far fewer people explore the side road leading to the Albercutx tower. One of the hidden gems!
Standing at 380m (1247ft) above sea level, the scenery is worth the short drive!
The tower was part of the defensive system all around the island. And the views are extensive!
From the path you can see the entire end of the peninsula with Formentor beach and the cliffs, plus you get entire views of the Pollença bay.
- Location – North-East coast, Formentor Cape Road
- Accessibility – 2 km stretch of narrow winding road leading to a small area where a few cars can park. And then couple of minutes walk to the view on the picture and a few more to the tower.
Need to rent a car in Mallorca?
My tips:
- Compare prices on my favorite platform: Discovercars.com – one of the best rated comparison sites!
- Don’t choose a car too large, since some roads are very narrow
- Consider their full coverage option – it for peace of mind!
- Book early to have a large choice of vehicles!
#4 – Coll dels Reis – Sa Calobra Road
Sa Calobra is the most beautiful gem on Mallorca island. But even before reaching this hidden beach, the road leading to it is probably one of the most photographed views in Mallorca.
From the mountain pass Col de Reis, you can see the road niched in the mountains winding its way down towards the sea.
- Location – West coast, side road between Soller and Pollença
- Accessibility – Narrower road, popular area. Views from the road, or walk over the guardrail on a rocky area.
#5 – Gorg Blau – beautiful viewpoint in Mallorca
The Gorg Blau viewpoint is one of my favorite because I love mountain lakes.
It is a reservoir created in the early 1970s.
Beautiful mountains surround this lake. I am surprised is not more often listed as one of the best views on the island. I really enjoyed it.
- Location – Along Road Ma-10, in the Tramuntana Mountains
- Accessibility – Easy parking area along the road just at the end of a tunnel.
#6 – Far de Capdepera
Capdepera has one of the best lighthouses on the island.
Located on Punta de Capdepera, the lighthouse started in 1861 and its light is at 76m above sea level, on a rocky headland with coves.
You can get quite close to the lighthouse.
But the best part is that you can do a short hike around to enjoy great perspectives towards the lighthouse and sea views.
- Location – North-East tip of the island, Close to the town of Capdepera
- Accessibility – Narrow road to access to lighthouse (but just for a couple of kilometers). Few parking spots along the road. Views from the road or hike on rocky paths to explore around.
All my favorite locations are included (with GPS coordinates, maps and tips) in my travel Guide eBook that helps you easily plan your Mallorca road trip:

#7 – Torre del Verger
Beautiful stop with an old tower, built in 1579 and part of an extensive network to guard the island.
Stunning views of the rugged West Coast.
- Location – Along Road Ma-10 through the Tramuntana Mountains, near Banyalbufar
- Accessibility – Carpark just West of the tower.
#8 – Arta Sanctuary
Located on top a 182m (597ft) high hill, the Arta Sanctuary is mostly interesting for the 360° views of the region.
The well-restored walls surround an oval area with the sanctuary, a house and the cistern from the 17th century.
It is perfect to see the agricultural lands, the hills and the town of Arta from above.
- Location – Most-Eastern area of Mallorca
- Accessibility – you can drive all the way to the entrance, there is a small carpark at the top. But if it its full, you have to park at the bottom of the hill.
#9 – Sa Cova Foradada
An arch, the sea, a lighthouse… and perfect alignment!
This is an incredible view.
In a residential area, just behind houses, you can walk to this natural arch.
You can admire the view from above with a lighthouse in the distance.
But the best is to climb down those large boulders to see the lighthouse through the arch. Picture perfect!
Not to be mixed up with the Sa Foradada viewpoint in the Tramuntana mountains.
- Location – East Coast, In the town of Portocolom
- Accessibility – 100m to view from above (rocky path) and some big boulder-climbing for the view through the arch.
#10 – Castell de Bellver – best viewpoint in Palma de Mallorca
This is a little more difficult to reach, but you can’t miss those views.
The icon of Palma de Mallorca is the cathedral. However, I think the Bellver Castle is the real showstopper.
It has a rare circular form and from the top level of the castle you can enjoy 360° views over Palma de Mallorca, the sea and the mountains!
- Location – Palma de Mallorca
- Accessibility – carpark close to the castle entrance (but gets full quickly) – 3 levels of stairs to climb (and last one is steep).
#11 – Mirador es Pontas
Mirador es Pontas is hidden is a residential area.
A short hike takes you to a viewpoint over the magnificent rock, creating a natural bridge or stone arch.
It is 20m (65ft) high arch and very close to the coastal cliffs. It is rare to see such a stand-alone formation so close to the coastline.
- Location – South-East Coast – in Cala Santanyi
- Accessibility – 5min walk on rocky path downhill

- Families – see best-rated options in Cala Millor or in Colonia Sant Jordi
#12 – Mirador Ricardo Roca
Ricardo Roca offers a viewpoint over the beautiful and lush Estellencs valley.
However, I think the view is actually better from the right side of the terrace of the restaurant near the carpark.
In the picture above, you can see the view from the restaurant, with the official viewpoint on the right.
- Location – West Coast, not far from Andratx, along Road Ma-10
- Accessibility – Easy stop on carpark. Some stairs to reach the viewpoint.
#13 – Mirador Sant Salvador (Felanitx)
Located 510m (1673ft) above sea level on top of a hill, the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador offers magnificent panoramas in every direction.
You can see the entire East coast with Portocolom and the calas.
And, on clear days, you can see the Mountains of the Tramuntana to the North.
The sanctuary was founded in 1342. The current church dates back to the 18th century.
There are actually 2 viewpoints: the 37m (121ft) high monument with a statue of the Christ at the top and the Cross “Creu de Sant Salvador” with views in the opposite direction.
- Location – near Felanitx, inland from Portocolom
- Accessibility – 5km of narrow and sinuous road to reach the top – direct access to views at the top. But a short walk to the cross.
#14 – Son Marroig – most romantic viewpoint in Mallorca
The estate of Son Marroig offers incredible views of the rugged coastline.
The oldest part of the estate is from the 15th and 16th century. And it has been updated in the 19th century by the Austrian Archduke Ludwig Salvator.
It has become famous as the most romantic spot on the island with the white marble pavilion overlooking the cliffs and gardens.
- Location – On Ma-10 between Valldemossa and Deia
- Accessibility – Carpark along Ma-10 – some stairs to visit the estate – 4€ entrance – official website here
#15 – Miradores Sa Dragonera
The seafront of Sant Elm offers many Miradores with views of Dragonera island.
The island is an uninhabited islet and National Park.
Walk in town, and between houses, to enjoy them.
Note that boat shuttle can take you to the island for the day from Sant Elm.
- Location – Western tips of Mallorca, in the town of Sant Elm
- Accessibility – Easy to walk around town or drive and stop.
#16 – Mirador Illa del Toro
View towards a narrow headland: Punta del Toro and at the end 2 islands Illa del Toreto and Illa del Toro.
It is possible to hike over the headland.
- Location – West of Palma de Mallorca, not far from Magaluf
- Accessibility – Easy to drive there and to stop. Views right by the road.
I don’t drink coffee
But I also like other drinks and sweets!

#17 – Colonia Sant Jordi lighthouse
Colonia Sant Jordi has a small striped lighthouse on a headland.
Nothing impressive, but the area is quite photogenic with a boardwalk and rocky coves that contrast with the simple straight lighthouse.
- Location – South-West coast, in Colonia Sant Jordi
- Accessibility – Easy to drive to lighthouse and easy to walk on the boardwalk. Wear good shoes if walking on rocks to appreciate other angles.
#18 – Mirador Las Malgrats
Large headland with beautiful rock formations and views towards the Malgrats Islands Nature Reserve.
- Location – West of Palma de Mallorca, not far from Magaluf
- Accessibility – Easy to drive there and to stop. Views right by the road.
#19 – Mirador Parque Natural de Levante
Viewpoint over the valleys of the Natural Park, all the way to the sea.
- Location – Eastern area of Mallorca, ear Capdepera
- Accessibility – Easy drive and easy stop at the viewpoint
- If you continue the drive to go down to the beaches, access is only for 4WD.
#20 – Palma de Mallorca Cathedral
One of the most photographed views in Mallorca is in the capital, Palma.
The view of the cathedral and the Royal palace across from the pond is iconic. Love the reflections and the open views.
- Location – Old town of Palma de Mallorca
- Accessibility – Large underground carpark right by the pond. Flat area, great for walking.
Plan your trip to Mallorca:
#21 – Cala Figuera
Let’s finish is one of my parent’s favorite views.
In the fishing village of Cala Figuera, a nice viewing platform offers views of the mouth of the cove and the Faro de la Torre d’en Beu.
- Location – West Coast, near Santanyi
- Accessibility – Few parking spaces, easy to access
