Best places for nightlife in Menorca
Don’t forget that going out in Menorca at night is still more peaceful than on the neighboring islands Mallorca and Ibiza. However, there are a few places where the atmosphere is conducive to partying and nightlife:
- Port Mahon, the island’s capital with lively bars and restaurants where you can enjoy drinks and local cuisine,
- Ciutadella, Menorca’s 2nd largest city, is a picturesque town with a lively nightlife, especially near its port,
- Cala’n Porter and, in particular, Cova den Xoroi, a disco bar in a cave high above the sea,
- night markets in the island’s towns and villages (my dedicated article will be available soon),
- popular festivals such as Menorca’s Festival of the Horse (note that the festivities vary from one commune to another, from June to September).

Tips for choosing your luxury hotel in Menorca
What to look for when choosing your luxury accommodation in Menorca – Advice
- The size of the hotel and the multitude of services such as spa, gym, wellness center or even kids’ club if you’re looking for a resort or club-type hotel with lots of activities for adults and kids alike. Or if, on the contrary, you’re looking for a more intimate setting.
- The distance to the beach if you want to swim at any time. Some beaches and coves can be reached after a short walk from the parking lot, others are closer with more direct access. If you want easy access to the sea, consider whether the beach is within walking distance of your accommodation.
- Check the reviews to know if the neighborhood is noisy – if daily life is busy, you can easily have a noisy establishment nearby. This advice applies more to larger cities.
- Think aboutparking as it’s not always easy to find a space in Menorca. If there is no dedicated parking at your accommodation, check the reviews for this and ask the hotel for details when you book. If you’re staying close to a busy area, parking can become a real ordeal, with people passing through for the day or evening.

An authentic place that I really loved. From the sophisticated, elegant decor to the hotel’s ideal location 2 steps from 3 beaches, not to mention its dining options and spa, pool and fitness services, everything was perfect! The hotel’s great strength lies in its ability to remain a typical, intimate place with an eye for detail, while offering the services of a major resort. As soon as I arrived, a valet took care of parking my car and I was offered a refreshing drink. The staff were extremely friendly and always available to answer my questions.
The atmosphere is welcoming and peaceful, also thanks to the raw, natural materials such as wood, wicker and straw, which contrast with the beige and white tones of the hotel’s walls and furniture.

I loved its outdoor pools, which form waves from one area to the next, from the buffet restaurant to the lobby bar.

4. Hotel Jardi de Ses Bruixes (5 stars) – Port Mahon
Why stay at the Hotel Jardi de Ses Bruixes in Port Mahon?
Choosing the Hotel Jardi de Ses Bruixes means opting for a stay in the heart of the capital Port Mahon, in a quiet alleyway. Push open the door of this luxury establishment with its discreet façade. The blue of its pretty shutters and the bicycle outside caught my eye. I liked the combination of modernity and rusticity, reinforced by the period furniture and fireplace inside. This boutique hotel is housed in a former manor house dating back to the early 19th century.
The setting is truly romantic if you’re looking for a peaceful, prime location in the middle of the city. Its atmosphere is almost magical and enchanting. The hotel’s name confirms this: in Menorca, “bruixes” means dandelion bouquets on which you blow to make a wish, a dream that flies into the air.

How about a country setting in an idyllic setting? This agritourism estate is one of my favorite accommodations in Menorca. The green outdoor spaces contrast with the mustard yellow of the buildings. Why stay at the Hotel Catalonia Mirador Des Port in Port Mahon?
Beyond the exceptional view of the natural harbor and the town of Port Mahon, I was immediately seduced by the hotel’s soft, marine atmosphere. In shades of ocean blue, white and beige, you’ll feel transported to a world of serenity and tranquility. The decor is sober and sophisticated, with soft colors and a few eye-catching objects that give the place a soul, such as decorative wall plates and several representations of marine animals and shells.
The whale also caught my eye, as it is represented in several areas of the hotel. Did you know that this imposing and majestic cetacean is a symbol of peace, wisdom and longevity? That’s what you’ll find if you stay at this establishment: accommodation in a tranquil setting close to the bustling historic center of the Menorcan capital. Discover this luxurious setting in the heart of Menorca’s 30-hectare vineyards. I fell in love with this agrotourism hotel, which blends in perfectly with its natural surroundings. In fact, it’s a former finca (or farming estate) dating back to the 19th century, so if you’re looking for accommodation that combines sustainability and top-of-the-range service amidst pines, oaks and olive trees, don’t hesitate any longer. - Admire the sunset at Punta Nati, a viewpoint at the extreme north-west of the island.
- Visit picturesque inland villages such as Es Mercadal, Alaior, Es Castell or Ferreries.
- Hike the Cami de Cavalls: explore this coastal trail on foot or by bike to discover panoramic views and secluded coves, or even on horseback from Cala Mitjana or Cala Fustam.
- Binibeca: a picturesque fishing village with white houses and winding lanes, ideal for a romantic stroll.
- Staying by doing agrotourism: opt for charming countryside accommodation, surrounded by tranquility and natural beauty for an unforgettable romantic getaway.
How to get to Menorca
To get to Menorca, you’ll need to take either a plane or a boat. If you go by plane, you’ll arrive at Mahon-Minorca International Airport (MAH), the only airport on the island. A total of 35 airlines serve 70 cities worldwide from Menorca airport.
If you prefer to take the boat, it’s possible to sail from Barcelona in Spain or from the Port of Alcudia on Mallorca to Ciutadella on Menorca, with several crossings a day. Don’t hesitate to consult ferry schedules.
If you’re already in Mallorca, you can also opt for a day in Menorca by boat – see program and availability.
What’s the quietest part of Menorca?
The quieter part of Menorca is generally found in the island’s interior, away from the busiest tourist areas. Inland villages such as Es Mercadal, Alaior or Ferreries offer a peaceful, authentic atmosphere, with quiet alleyways, local markets and a more lazy pace of life. Climb to the top of Monte Toro for a bird’s eye view of Menorca’s wild, natural landscapes, with the immensity of the Mediterranean Sea in the background. A moment of relaxation guaranteed!
For an even more peaceful experience, consider staying at a agrotourism estate in the countryside, where you can relax in a serene, natural setting.
Where to eat in Menorca
For me, travel also involves culinary discovery. So you can’t visit Menorca without sampling its local produce and dining in its typical restaurants. It’s almost like going to Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower!
The island boasts several fine restaurants, which I was delighted to try out:
- Restaurant at the Hotel Menorca Experimental near Alaior: between finesse and explosion of flavors,
- Restaurant Arjau in Port Mahon: combining bistronomy and seafood,
- Restaurant at the Hotel Barcelo Nura in Biniancolla: buffet restaurant in elegant 5-star surroundings
- Restaurant Sa Lluna in Cala Galdana: enjoy tapas, pizzas or typical dishes by the pool,
- Restaurant at the Hôtel Rural Saint Ignasi in Ciutadella: between elegance and authenticity,
- restaurant at the Hôtel Loar Ferreries: Minorcan terroir and conviviality on the menu.
