1. Villa Le Blanc Gran Melia Hotel (5 stars) – Santo Tomas
Why stay at the Hotel Villa Le Blanc Gran Melia in Santo Tomas?
I was enchanted by this authentic hotel. From its refined, elegant decor to its ideal location just a few steps from 3 different beaches, from its dining options to its spa, pool and fitness services, everything was simply perfect! What makes this place exceptional is its ability to preserve its typical, intimate charm, while offering the services of a large resort. From the moment I arrived, the staff were exceptionally friendly and always ready to answer my questions.
As a family, you’ll be pampered! Kids’ club, coloring and crayons available at reception, children’s pool… Something to delight young and old alike! The atmosphere here is warm and soothing, thanks in large part to the use of raw, natural materials such as wood, wicker and straw, which create a harmonious contrast with the beige and white tones of the hotel’s walls and furniture. Ideal for enjoying a quiet space with the family after putting your feet in the sand.
You’ll also have a choice of 3 restaurants at the hotel, making it easy to organize meals with your children right on site. A real plus to consider on vacation!

My aparthotel was also spacious and functional, practical if you’re sharing the space with several people, with an outdoor area overlooking the forest. Your children will be able to hear the birds singing and (sometimes) see them!
The room and apartment buildings are not very high. This makes it easier to move around and gives a better view of the sky, creating a feeling of openness. It’s one of the resort’s luxury hotels, offering the most comprehensive range of activities for young and old alike. The hotel’s elevated position facing the beach affords an exceptional view of the cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea, where you can watch the comings and goings of sailboats and catamarans.

5. Hotel Catalonia Mirador des Port (4 stars) – Port Mahon
Why stay at the Hotel Catalonia Mirador Des Port in Port Mahon?
Beyond the exceptional view of the natural harbor and the town of Port Mahon, I was immediately seduced by the hotel’s soft, marine atmosphere. In shades of ocean blue, white and beige, you’ll feel transported to a world of serenity and tranquility. The decor is sober and sophisticated, with soft colors and a few eye-catching objects that give the place a soul, such as decorative wall plates and several representations of marine animals and shells.
The whale also caught my eye, as it is represented in several areas of the hotel. Did you know that this imposing and majestic cetacean is a symbol of peace, wisdom and longevity? That’s what you’ll find if you stay at this establishment: accommodation in a tranquil setting close to the bustling historic center of the Menorcan capital. Note also that the restaurant is open in the evening, so the view is even more beautiful at night, and the dishes are just as tasty.
I have fond memories of it: attentive and helpful staff, delicious full breakfast overlooking the harbor, a cozy bed and a balcony overlooking the pool and the old town in the background. What more could you ask for?
As a family, you’ll love the toddler pool, the special attention you’ll receive from the staff and, above all, the play area with slide and spring-loaded game. The poolside team can even lend you buoys for your toddlers, subject to availability.

A 4-star hotel with entertainment, swimming pools, easy access to coves and the beach, terrace and private garden – what better way to spend a family vacation?
Hotel Prinsotel La Caleta was one of the first places I stayed, and I found it to offer quality service, a spacious room and well-appointed communal areas. This peaceful hotel is nestled on Menorca’s magnificent coast, just a few steps from Cala’n Porter beach and facing the majestic cliffs opening the door to the Mediterranean Sea. This ensures a relaxing and enjoyable stay, which is also what families are looking for. The friendly, attentive staff will always be ready to meet your needs and make your stay a memorable one.
Another major asset is the restaurant. You can enjoy a well-balanced cuisine with local and international dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. It’s the perfect way to simplify mealtimes for young and old alike, while still eating healthily on vacation.
A nice touch that caught my eye: a food-truck attached to the establishment is set up at the foot of the hotel, 2 steps from the beach. You can also eat on the go with your children in a reggae musical atmosphere, with a beautiful fresco depicting Bob Marley on the wall behind the tables.

Frequently asked questions
Where to eat in Menorca
In my opinion, a true travel experience also includes exploring the local cuisine. So a visit to Menorca would not be complete without sampling its local delicacies and enjoying a meal in one of its traditional restaurants. Omitting this step would be almost like going to Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower!
The island boasts several fine restaurants, which I was delighted to try out and which are all family-friendly:
- Restaurant at the Hotel Menorca Experimental near Alaior: between finesse and explosion of flavors,
- Restaurant Arjau in Port Mahon: combining bistronomy and seafood,
- Restaurant at the Hotel Barcelo Nura in Biniancolla: buffet restaurant in elegant 5-star surroundings
- Restaurant Sa Lluna in Cala Galdana: enjoy tapas, pizzas or typical dishes by the pool,
- Restaurant at the Hôtel Rural Saint Ignasi in Ciutadella: between elegance and authenticity,
- restaurant at the Hotel Loar Ferreries: Minorcan terroir and conviviality on the menu.
