Just 2 steps from all the places of interest in Ciutadella, the island’s ancient capital and seat of the Diocese of Menorca, nestles the Hotel Smoix. This charming boutique hotel adopts a style that is at once meticulous, precious and rustic. A few succulents, paintings, antiques and old-fashioned telephones contrast with the soothing white walls.
Run by a welcoming couple, Miquel and Vianey, it’s a great place to stay in this dynamic city if you want to discover its cultural, historical and architectural heritage. My hosts were very attentive and prepared a good breakfast for me on waking, complete with hot drink, fresh fruit, pastries and a hot savory dish. The terrace on the courtyard side is rustic with its exposed wooden beams and forms a light well, a very pleasant place to eat in the morning.
In my spacious bedroom, I particularly liked the colorful touches both on the furniture, such as the wooden headboard repainted in water green, and the black and white pinstripe earcovers. The bathroom was also bright and furnished with natural, elegant materials.

5. Faustino Gran Relais & Chateaux (5 stars) – Ciutadella
Why stay at the Hotel Faustino Relais & Chateaux in Ciutadella?
The hotel is first and foremost a place steeped in history. This boutique hotel brings together 4 palaces from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries in the old town. The buildings alone are worth the detour! It’s also well placed for visiting the city’s places of interest, such as Ciutadella’s Santa Maria Cathedral, the headquarters of the Diocese of Menorca and Ciutadella’s Municipal Museum.
This luxury hotel lives up to its reputation as a place of excellence, both intimate and grandiose, when you push open the doors of its 4 palaces overlooking the harbor or the cathedral. Why stay at the Hotel Jardi de Ses Bruixes in Port Mahon?
Choosing the Hotel Jardi de Ses Bruixes means opting for a stay in the heart of the capital Port Mahon, in a quiet alleyway. Push open the door of this luxury establishment with its discreet façade. The blue of its pretty shutters and the bicycle outside caught my eye. I liked the combination of modernity and rusticity, reinforced by the period furniture and fireplace inside. This boutique hotel is housed in a former manor house dating back to the early 19th century.
The setting is truly romantic if you’re looking for a peaceful, prime location in the middle of the city. The atmosphere is almost magical and enchanting. The hotel’s name confirms this: in Menorca, ” bruixes ” means bunches of dandelions that you blow on while making a wish, a dream that flies into the air.
Its courtyard garden, the heart and lungs of the hotel, houses a charming restaurant where beautiful fruit trees stand between the wooden tables. It’s a place with a lot of character that I particularly liked in the Menorcan capital!

7. Hotel Menorca Experimental (4 stars) – Alaior
Why stay at the Hotel Menorca Experimental near Alaior?
Discover this luxurious setting in the heart of Menorca’s 30-hectare vineyards. I fell in love with this agrotourism hotel, which blends in perfectly with its natural surroundings. In fact, it’s a former finca (or farming estate) dating back to the 19th century, so if you’re looking for accommodation that combines sustainability and top-of-the-range service amidst pines, oaks and olive trees, don’t hesitate any longer. The setting is truly relaxing and inviting, with soft, light colors in the common areas.
I enjoyed a quality meal in the fresh air, where local produce from the Minorcan region and Mediterranean cuisine were revisited. After your meal, take a seat in front of the infinity pool and contemplate the surrounding farmland. It’s so inspiring, enchanting and soothing, you can almost let yourself be carried away into meditation.

Why stay at the Hotel Ilunion Menorca in Cala Galdana?
Impeccable service, plenty of space and well-appointed common areas, a large garden with a swimming pool for adults and 2 children’s pools, and a schedule of activities for young and old alike? In short, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for if you’re staying with your family. My apartment in the hotel was also spacious and functional, which comes in handy when you’re sharing space with other people. What’s more, I had a view of the forest from my terrace, so I could hear the birds singing and sometimes even see them!
The room and apartment buildings are not very high. This makes it easier to move around and gives a better view of the sky, creating a feeling of openness. The atmosphere is relaxing and bright, and the rooms are soundproofed to ensure a cocoon of tranquility.
The Hotel El Consul Mao is also committed to a concrete eco-responsible approach that also appealed to me: using less plastic, favoring organic and local products, whether in the kitchen or in the hygiene kits provided in the rooms, reusing rainwater…
