Guadeloupe is one of the French Caribbean islands. It is very diverse with a flat land and pristine beaches in Grande Terre, volvanos and tropical forest in Basse Terre as well as abondant wildlife. Here are my favorite photos from my week around the Guadeloupean islands.
1. Souffleur Beach

Why I love this photo
The big catamarans, the palm trees and the reef... the perfect picture for a perfect day

Petite terre is a combination of 2 small islands protected for their flora and fauna. Good to see lemon sharks and huge turtles

5. La Caravelle beach

Typical postcard for the Caribbeans
The location behind
La Caravelle beach is the club Med one but also accessible to the public. It is a stunning white sand beach with turquoise waters.

6. Hell Gate

It gives you an idea as to why it is called Hell Gate

Hell gate is a long cove in the Nortern end of the Grande Terre east coast. The quiet waters of the lagoon become raging waves as we walk closer to the mouth

7. Grande Anse beach

It has it all, the boat, the swimmers, the waves and the reflection of the sunset!

8. Tropical Forest
Why I love this photo
I think it translates well the modd of the place, with the lush wet forest that looks like it is closing down on you

Basse Terre is covered in a lot of tropical forest. This is the path to the second Carbet waterfall

9. Castles' Headland

I can still feel the power of the waves when looking at this one

This is taken at 'Pointe des chateaux', one of the most famous places in Guadeloupe. Big waves crashing on stunning rocks, what is there not to love?

10. Dolphin jumping

The light is not good but the timing was perfect 🙂

This one taken during a whale watching tour departing from Basse Terre island. We did not see any whales but foudn a dolphin pod
