VPN

I check almost every day the balance of my bank account to make sure there is no problem. To protect my data while I am on public networks, I use a VPN system. Nord VPN is one of the best rated. Find out how to protect your online data.

  • All liquids in ziploc bag
  • Earplug
  • Mask
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Something to keep my neck warm

  • Any pills to be taken at specific times
  • All batteries (as they are not allowed in cargo)
  • Don't forget to remove nail clips and cisors from your bags

... and my Carry-On Essentials

Kindle Paperwhite

I am a huge fan of My Kindle Paperwhite. I can take many books with me without the inconvenient of space and weight. Plus, thanks to the lighting feature, I can easily read when the plane is dark without feeling my eyes tired.

Get it on Amazon

Buff Head Sock

I also never travel without what my brother called "my head sock". Those Buff head band can be used in many ways, to protect your head from the UV but also to warm your neck. There are always cold air streams annoying us on the plane, to avoid having muscle pain, I wear my Buff around my neck.

Sleep mask

When traveling, the sleep masks is very useful. Especially on the plane. But I don't like the plain one you can get for free. I love the idea of having fun with it. Airportag has a great collection of Sleep Masks!

Powerbank

If I use my phone or other electronic equipment for a long time while traveling and can't plug it, it is really useful to have a powerbank to recharge what you need. You have several options: something a bit heavy but that can charge anything even your computer, or a slim option that will be able to charge your phone and maybe another tool.

Clothes & accessories travel packing List

I am not telling you how to dress. It really depends on your style and your destination. But here are a few things not to forget.

  • Everyday clothes depending on your destinations (cold / warm / rain...)
  • Underwear
  • Socks
  • Swimwear (always, you never know)
  • Pajamas
  • Sunglasses
  • Gloves (if cold country or cold camping nights)
  • Hat (agains sun or to keep warm)
  • Laundry bag
  • Towel
  • Walking shoes
  • Relaxation shoes
  • Accessories (jewels, watch, scarf...)

Note: for advice on what to wear in Iceland, head to my Iceland Packing list

... and my must have travel packing accessories

Organizing Packing Cubes

No more wasting time looking for underwear or another piece of clothing lost in a mix of you luggage. Packing cubes are fantastic to organize all your clothes, especially when you are on a road trip and everything stays in the suitcase.

Laundry Bag

I used to systematically forget to take something to put my dirt clothes in. And then I had to find a plastic bag or something, that was never able to hold everything. Airportag has a fun collection of Laundry bags you will not forget anymore 🙂

Electronics travel packing checklist

Pack:

  • Phone
  • Phone charger
  • Computer / Tablet
  • Computer / Tablet charger
  • Adapter
  • Power strip
  • Headphone
  • GPS (and cables)

... And my must have travel items for Power:

Adapter

Because, in our current world, we don't see to agree on anything 🙂 Traveling with an international adapter is essential to be able to get power anywhere to your electronic equipment.

Get it on Amazon

Power strip

It might seem strange but I take one for 2 reasons:
- I like having the phone by the bed and charging at night, but something there is no plug right by the bed
- I often have to charge Go Pro + Camera + Computer at the same time

I normally travel with one that has 3 plugs, not to big and enough for me to manage everything.

Photography / Image Packing list

Pack (depending on your level of photography-passion):

  • Camera
  • Lense
  • Extra Batteries (that have been charged)
  • Memories cards (that have been emptied)
  • Filters, especially Polarizing one in countries with bright blue skies
  •  Tripod
  • Rain Sleeve for the camera (that can also protect against dust - voir les options)
  • Pen and clothes to clean lense filters
  • Release cable / Remote control
  • Gopro / Video recorder + Batteries + memory cards
  • Drone
  • Stabilizer
  • Binoculars

... And my must have travel accessories for Photography and Image:

Pen and Clothe to clean lenses

I tend to travel to deserts where there is a lot of dust and sand. In that case, it is essential for me to have something to clean my filters and lenses. I don't carry the all equipment but the little lense pen and clothes are really useful. And better to invest a little bit more for quality product to avoid leaving more dust than removing it...

Get it on Amazon

Binoculars

It is not for photography, but it is something I don't travel without. I love admiring the landscapes and animals through my binoculars, wherever I am. You can also see the details of a cathedral or a waterfall hidden in the distance!

Check out my article on choosing your travel Binoculars

Thermal Blanket

Some people laugh at me. But this is something I never go traveling or hiking without. It takes almost not space and if you are stuck somewhere or injured, you will really appreciate the warmth in brings you.
