Hot Air Ballooning in Marrakech... Quite an experience! I had flown over many countries, but never with such a vehicle. I was excited and it did not disappoint. It is an incredible feeling to float in the air like that! Below are photos from the flight.

REVIEW - HOT AIR BALLOON
I selected myself and paid fully of this activity. This review is based on my own experience in 2013.
- Company - Marrakech by Air
- Driver / Pilot - nice guy. I was not a big fan of his joke sespecially during the flight but it is not a deal breaker. I fell safe with his piloting
- Balloon - I am not an expert but it seems well maintained
- Food - the breakfast was tasty ๐
Getting the Hot Air Balloon ready
After a very early pick up, we drove out of Marrakech. The pilot and his team prepared and checked the balloon in front of us. It was quite fascinating to watch the flames and the balloon getting into shape.
Take off
For take off he asked us to squat, and I was waiting and waiting wandering what is HE waiting for. Well, actually we had taken off. I just did not feel a thing ๐
Flying around Marrakech in a Hot Air Balloon
Once we stood, we discovered the region around Marrakech. We could not see the city as we have to fly away from it. But it was impressive how bare the land was. Difficult to imagine how they are able to farm in this area.
We got higher and for kilometers, all I could see was bare land!
Then we lost some altitude and flew over villages. I enjoyed it as we got to this how Moroccans live in rural areas.
I must admit that this was not at all what I expected. I was expecting a rush of adrenaline and I just felt stoned and extremely relaxed (I assure you, I had not taken anything). This was a really weird feeling.
The landing was really soft. The team grabed the backet and took it to the back of the truck with us still inside. I was impressed!
Breakfast
After all that, we were taken under a tent for a home cooked breakfast which was very tasty. The bread was freshly cooked from the stone oven.
Camel ride
On the way back to Marrakech, we stopped for a short camel ride. I had my dose of camel ride in the Sahara and decide to just take their portraits.
