The Guadeloupe islands have many beautiful beaches. Raisins Clairs is one of them with the originality not to be surrounded by palm trees. But do not worry the white sand and turquoise waters are here.

INFO & PLANNING TIPS - RAISINS CLAIRS BEACH

The Raisins Clairs beach is a well known one at the border of the town of saint Francois. It takes its name from the trees standing along the beach that, contrary to other beaches are not palm trees.
Just be aware that a slave cemitery has been discovered next to it, in case that would bother you.

TIPS FOR TRAVEL PLANNING ADDICTS - Raisin Clairs Beach

Getting to Raisins Clairs Beach

  • On Grande Terre island
  • Along the main road N4, just at the west limit of the Saint-François town

Visiting Raisins Clairs Beach

  • Water: turquoise, calm
  • Sand: white, clean
  • Gets very busy especially during shool breaks
  • Large parkings, food trucks / restaurant
  • Toilets and showers

The beautiful waters of Raisins Clairs Beach

I arrived at this beach late afternoon. Not many people there. It was a very relaxing spot after discovering the south coast of Grande-Terre island.
As you can see in the pictures below, the water does not get deep too fast, it is clean and transparent and the waves are small.
The sand is incredibly white. what we call a postcard beach (or one withour palm trees)

I included it in my list with some of the best beaches in Guadeloupe.

Sunset at Raisins Clairs Beach

Raisins Clairs Beach was also a great place to enjoy sunset. It happens between 5:30pm and 6:30pm depending on the season, so early enough to admire it before going for drinks and diner.
