I was lucky to see some colorful and weird sunrises and sunsets while traveling through New Zealand. Here are some of the best pictures.

A reflection sunrise
For this first sunrise I want to share with you (early morning before visiting the Rotorua geothermal wonderland), I think my fellow travelers thought I was crazy. Who on the second day of its vacation wakes up at 6am??? ME! ME! ME! And I am so happy I did, because the colors in the sky were reflecting on the lake. All was quiet and every minute, I took a deep breath and observed all the nuances. Check it out:
A beach sunset
The night before crossing to South Island, we enjoyed fish and chips near the beach. Well we actually enjoyed the beach but not so much the fish… After all that heavily fried food, some exercised on the playground and some of us admired the sunset. I can’t believe I had to beg to stay 5 more minutes until the sun was completely set. They were ready to go!!! Personally I can spend hours everyday watching those colors. And I would have loved to be on that canoe to live it…
A white sunrise
When we arrive and set up our tent near lake Pukaki facing Mount Cook, we were really excited. Seeing such an amazing scenery, I discovered everyone woke up very early the next morning for the sunrise. Sadly, he clouds had taken over and we only had a white sunrise:
A sporty sunrise
Near Dunedin we camped near the beach, I once again woke up early for my ‘private’ sunrise. The beach was not well aligned and I had to walk further along the road with my big tripod and all to reach a place with a well deserved view:
Other days were cloudy or we were staying in places where I could not get a nice sunrise or sunset 🙁
