Man kan se hele Palma-bugten, katedralen, havnen, og p\u00e5 en klar dag kan man endda se Serra de Tramuntana-bjergene i det fjerne. Det er uden tvivl en af de smukkeste udsigter i Palma.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Stedet huser ogs\u00e5 et historisk museum, der sporer byens udvikling fra den talayotiske periode til i dag. Det indeholder ark\u00e6ologiske rester fra den talayotiske, romerske og arabiske periode samt skulpturer, keramik og hverdagsgenstande. Den moderne museografi g\u00f8r bes\u00f8get tilg\u00e6ngeligt og interessant.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Mallorca\/Palma-Castell-de-Bellver\/i-FCwDGk2\/3\/MpNpK4TP4mrqJT8rtbN4Lnz5zJbPKkwXpZBzCQpR3\/L\/Castell_Bellver_Palma_Mallorca-178569-L.jpg\" alt=\"Museum\" title=\"Museum\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Voldene, terrasserne og udsigten<\/h3>\n\n<p>Kravl op p\u00e5 voldene for at nyde den enest\u00e5ende panoramaudsigt. Hver retning byder p\u00e5 et nyt syn: katedralen og det historiske centrum mod syd\u00f8st, Serra de Tramuntana-bjergene mod nord og havnen og bugten mod syd. Her er et par forslag:<\/p>\n\n<p>Start med slottet om morgenen, n\u00e5r det stadig er k\u00f8ligt, og g\u00e5 derefter ned til det historiske centrum for at bes\u00f8ge Palmas katedral (La Seu), det kongelige Almudaina-palads og slentre gennem de smalle gader i den gamle bydel.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"t-1766151152551\">Lidt historie<\/h2>\n\n<p>Slottet blev bygget mellem 1300 og 1311 p\u00e5 ordre fra kong James II af Mallorca. Navnet &#8220;Bellver&#8221; betyder &#8220;smuk udsigt&#8221; p\u00e5 catalansk, hvilket siger meget om slottets strategiske placering. <\/p>\n\n<p>Slottet blev oprindeligt designet som en kongelig residens, men fungerede hurtigt som et f\u00e6ngsel, en funktion det beholdt indtil midten af det 20. \u00e5rhundrede. Blandt de ber\u00f8mte fanger var politiske modstandere under den spanske uafh\u00e6ngighedskrig. <\/p>\n\n<p>Den cirkul\u00e6re arkitektur var revolutionerende for sin tid. De fire t\u00e5rne, der vender mod kardinalpunkterne, bidrager til kompleksets perfekte symmetri.
